Colourful art at Åbygård in September

Århus: The walls of Åbygård will be a lot more colourful in September thanks to the works of Lars Stounberg, a Danish artist from the small town of Odder. Originally an accountant, he took to painting years ago. As an autodidact water

colourist, he has participated in a number of courses, i.a. at the Art Academy of Aarhus and in the Black Forest of Southern Germany.

The works displayed at Åbygård are very sensuous and colourful – and
impressionistic in their effects. The motifs of his works include Venetian gondolas, the canals of Copenhagen and French cafées with their special atmosphere and savoir vivre where outdoor service and red wine play important roles.

Art is not entirely new to Stounberg’s family. His pedigree includes well-known names such as Christian Zacho and Peder Mønsted. Since 1989 he has arranged many exhibitions in public offices, libraries and art galleries.
