Gondolas in Venice and the life and atmosphere of Southern European cultures are the dominant sources of inspiration for painter Lars Stounberg. Some of his works are on display at Odder’s cinema, Denmark.

Gondolas and cafés
By Yrsa P. Toftvang

ODDER: Venetian gondolas, the canals of Copenhagen and the typical atmosphere of French cafés, where outdoor service and red wine play important roles, have come to the foyer of Odder’s cosy cinema. The works of local painter Lars Stounberg are on display – water colours with a touch of impressionism. An autodidact artist, Stounberg has refined his skills at a number of courses, i.a. at the

Art Academy of Aarhus and in the Black Forest of Southern Germany. During a number of years, Stounberg has been arranging exhibitions at art societies and libraries, and next year his works will be on display at e.g. Aarhus University and several companies. Stounberg’s optimistic water colours can be enjoyed in Odder until 15 January.
